Understanding DIALOG

Create two distinct spaces that relate to one another in a mutually supportive way. When I first started making the Parti for my project, I thought about negative and positive space. The other day in class we discussed that my project had the same rhythm as Classical music and if we were to design a music hall should it "speak" music. I included some of those ideas on my collage. Doesn't the music note resemble my project?
FINAL DESIGN
The lamp posts help define the space in front of the building. The skewers are doing the same thing in my project. Skewers!
SECOND DESIGN
FIRST DESIGN
My first design was inspired by the two buildings below. I thought the stacked cube shapes were interesting and the negative spaces created around them had a unique depth that I do not see on many buildings.

Habitat, Montreal

MY IDEAS

REVIEW OF 2 OTHER PROJECTS

Two projects that incorporate similar design elements as mine are shown below. They use tabs that add detail to the curvilinear lines and they are inspired by the Yin-Yang sign . The plan view is the most interesting way to view both of these and shows the two spaces well.
