I’m Inspired

The sketchblogs I reviewed were inspiring and seem to be a wonderful tool for artists to share their work. Learning Daily was my favorite blog and showcases four years of work by Cindy Woods. What I first liked about this blog is its simple layout and the way she sketches people. Archived under June 2006 are two that stand out to me. The first one, dance, is a lively sketch of a couple Latin dancing. The lines are sharp, the colors are vibrant and the connection the dancers have to each other is captured. The other one, me times 3, is a simple self-portrait. Many of her sketches like this one have rough lines and no color. There is not much detail on her body, but her face and eyes are intense. Cindy Woods passed away in November 2008 but her best friend Ronda still posts her sketches.
